| Job Duties: | Participates in the activities of cooks and kitchen personnel. Estimates food consumption, requisition foodstuffs based on economic reorder points. Receives and examines foodstuffs to ensure quality and quantity meet established standards and specifications. Cuts, trims, bones meat and poultry. Determines size of portions and method of garnishing. Designs, prepares decorated food and artistic food arrangement for buffet and private reservations. Prepares food such as hors d’ oeuvres, casserole and cold cuts. Bakes bread, rolls, muffins, pies, tarts and cobblers. Mixes and prepares soups, sauces, meat glazes, jellies, salad dressing and stuffing. Plan menus and develop recipes that are nutritional. Cooks foreign dishes, dinners and dessert. Maintains kitchen equipment, supplies and kitchen area in clean and orderly condition. Other duties as deemed necessary. O-Net: Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure observance of safe, sanitary food-handling practices. Turn or stir foods to ensure even cooking. Season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment and experience. Observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently, using methods such as tasting, smelling, or piercing them with utensils. Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes or personal judgment, using various kitchen utensils and equipment. Portion, arrange, and garnish food, and serve food to waiters or patrons. Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters. Substitute for or assist other cooks during emergencies or rush periods. Bake, roast, broil, and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods. Wash, peel, cut, and seed fruits and vegetables to prepare them for consumption. |
| Qualification Requirements: | ER Preference: High School Graduate with at least one year working experience and good moral character.
