Job Title: Greenskeeper
Job Duties:  Take care of the tools and machines in keeping the course green in good condition.  Operate vehicles and powered equipment, such as mowers, tractors, chain saws, electric clipper, sod cutter, and pruning saws, front loader, top-dresser, spreader, verticutter.  Care for established lawns by mulching, aerating, verticutting, weeding, grubbing, removing thatch or trimming or edging around flower beds, walks or walls.  Maintain grounds and turf of the golf course in good condition, cultivate and grade areas, mowing rough, green tee, and fairways, banks, hillsides.  Ensures that equipment cooling and other systems are working at all times, refills fuel and oil, cleans equipment daily, reports equipment problems.  Returns equipment to designated areas after use.  Sets tee markers and cups on greens as directed, sands and weeds tee drop area divots.  Maintain ball washers, replace water, tee towels and flags when needed.  Water tee, greens and fairways, operates irrigation in dry areas.  Grades and prepare soil base and lay sods, seed greens, tees, and fairways.  Use hand tools, such as shrubs or hedges, shears, pruners.  Gather and remove litter.  Mix and spray or spread fertilizers, pesticides or insecticides onto grass, shrubs or trees, using hand or automatic sprayer or spreaders.  Assist contractors when needed.  Performs other task as determined and assigned by supervisor.
High School Diploma Required? Undetermined
Qualification Requirements: High School graduate or equivalent.At least three months of work related experience and knowledge in maintaining and monitoring daily operations of the golf course greens. Requires advanced knowledge of agronomy and turf grass management practices, handling chemicals such as fertilizers and pesticides. Knowledge of safe, efficient mechanical equipment such as tractors, mowers and driving other motorized equipment. Knowledge of diesel and gasoline equipment operations. Ability to use hand and power tools and equipment, ability to follow oral and written directions. Must be able to work under the sun and can stand for prolonged period of time and capable of lifting at least 50lbs. Pesticide applicator license preferred but not required. Willing to work in flexible shifts, early morning hours, days, evenings, weekend and holidays.
