Job Title: | Program Coordinator III (Physical Activity) |
Job Duties: | Nature of position: This position is located in the Cooperative Research Extension and Education Services (CREES) under the supervision of the Nutrition and Health Programs Team Leader/CHL Site Manager. Duties and Responsibilities: • Participates in program review and outcomes assessment (PROA) activities. • Provides high-quality student and internal and external customer service. • Provide advice, assistance and leadership to community stakeholders on the establishment of increased opportunities to participate in physical activity, sport and recreation programs and to decrease recreational screen time at the individual and community levels. • Support the implementation and advance the delivery of the Children's Healthy Living Program goals and objectives. • Work with CHL intervention communities' schools, Head Starts, and child care centers to encourage adherence to SPARK principals and concepts. • Provide, facilitate, and coordinate training that builds community members capacity to promote physical activity and conduct on-going physical activity opportunities • Assist with the development of plans and strategies that support physical activity. Work closely with Built Environment Coordinator by advising collaboratively on ways to increase physical activity through the built environment and to decrease recreational screen time. • Provide assistance to initiatives such as Health Promoting Schools, After School Time environments, workplace wellness initiatives, youth leadership development, and others. • Enhance the linkages and partnerships at the community and regional level to promote physical activity. • Coordinate joint social marketing and communications programs. • Engage and attend multi-sector physical activity initiatives. • Research and distribute information to stakeholders on best practices, resources, and funding opportunities. • Delivery of educational and awareness programs, education forums, presentations etc. • Participate in local physical activity related committees. • Coordinate and/or participate in community and regional evaluations. • Be a role model for leading a healthy, physically active lifestyle. • Submit monthly reports and other reports as needed. • Performs other duties as assigned. |

Qualification Requirements: | Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Public Health, Physical Activity Studies, Physical Education, Kinesiology, Health Communications, or other related fields from a U.S. Department of Education recognized accredited institution with four (4) years of experience in health-related programs and/or community outreach including but not limited to providing leadership on health alliances, advocating for support of healthy living and/or physical activity at various levels (e.g. grassroots, systems, legislative). Desired Qualifications: • Experience with health-related programs and alliances. • Ability to effectively work with a variety of stakeholders from diverse backgrounds. • Above-average writing and excellent communication skills. • Must be able to use a computer and use Windows operating system, especially Microsoft Office to type correspondences, reports etc. • Must be able to operate a vehicle and have a valid CNMI driver's license. |
