Job Duties: | 1./Prepare patient, sterilize or disinfect instruments, set up instrument trays, prepare materials, or assist dentist during dental procedures. 2./Take dental diagnostic x-rays, removes sutures and dressings, polish teeth, and administer topical medications. 3./Clean teeth using dental instruments and apply protective coating of fluoride to teeth. 4./Record treatment information in patient computer based chart 5./Provide pre & postoperative instructions prescribed by dentist. 6./Assist dentist in management of medical or dental emergencies. 7./Educates patients in oral care techniques and dental Health. 8./Take and record medical, dental histories and vital signs of patients. 9./Instruct patients in oral hygiene and plaque control programs. 10./Order and monitor dental supplies and equipment inventory. 11./Clean and polish removable appliances. 12./Make preliminary impressions for study casts and occlusal registrations for mounting study casts. 13./Pour, Trim, and polish study casts. 14./May create mouth guards, orthodontic retainers, impression trays and temporary crowns. 15./Fabricate and fit orthodontic appliances and materials for patients, such as retainers, wires, or bands. |

Qualification Requirements: | 1./Must have a course certificate or equivalent college degree in Dentistry. 2./Employees in these occupations usually need one or two years of training involving both on-the-job experience and informal training with experienced workers.
