| Job Duties: | Sell replacement parts and original equipment in auto repair shop and parts supply store. Read online and hardcopy parts catalogs in order to determine replacement parts needed by customer. Determine replacement parts required, according to inspections of old parts and mechanics' descriptions of malfunctions. Receive and fill telephone orders for parts. Fill customer orders from stock. Prepare sales slips and contracts. Receive payment or obtain credit authorization and handle company money. Take regular inventory AND be responsible for parts inventory. Trouble-shoot to find substitution or modification of parts when identical replacements are not available. Examine returned parts for defects. Mark and store parts in stockrooms according to prearranged systems. Performs other related duties as assigned. |
