| Job Title: | Certified Nursing Assistant |
| Job Duties: | Performs certified nursing assistant duties in support of the Clinic's Optometrists and/or, as assigned to an Oculist or Registered Nurse. Responsible for conducting pre-testing and special testing (e.g. Visual fields, fundus photography, slit lamp photography, Bscan, OCT) using optical instruments and equipment (e.g. auto refractor, lensometry, tonometry and topography). Process patient's information, retrieve patient's record and prepares preliminary case history including medical conditions, prepares referrals, work/school excuse letters, written prescription and correspondences for providers to sign. Checks visual acuities, intra ocular pressure measurement, phoropter, color vision and eye drop instillation. Conducts inventory of supplies. Performs screening for Occupational Health Services. Respond to the needs of patients and perform related duties or tasks as assigned or required. |

| Qualification Requirements: | High School diploma or associate degree in nursing is required; Must be a certified as nursing assistant with a few months to 1 year of work experience; Must have high standard of patient care; Knowledgeable and able to provide Diabetes Self-Management Education; Good communication skills and can compose correspondence; Can work under minimum supervision; Be able to multi-task; Self-transportation; Must have specialized knowledge in computer programs relating to health care operations (medical billing, patient electronic records and scheduler); Experience in Orthoptics and pleoptics is essential. |
