| Job Duties: | Receive and disburse money in establishment other then financial institutions. Usually involves use of electronic scanners, cash register, or related equipment. Involve in processing credit or debit card transactions and validating checks. Receive payment by cash, check, credit cards, or vouchers. Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers. Assist customer by providing information and resolving their complaints. establish or identify prices of goods , services or admission, and tabulate bills using calculator, cash register, or optical price scanners. Greet customers entering establishment. Answer customers questions, and provide information on procedures or policies. Process merchandise returns and exchange. Maintain clean and orderly check out areas and complete other general cleaning duties. Accept food stamp check as mode of payment and assure that it complies with banking requirements and company policies. Count money in cash drawers at the beginning of shift to insure that amount is correct and that there is adequate change. Calculate total payments receive during a time period and reconcile this with total amount of sales. Monitor cash drawer to ensure that there is adequate change fund. Assist with duties on other areas of the store, such as monitoring fitting rooms or bagging and carrying out customers items. Sort, count,and wrap currency coins, Bag, box, wrap or gift wrap merchandise, and prepare packages for customers. Weigh items sold by weight to determine prices. Cash checks for customers. |
