Job Title: | Director of Aircraft Maintenance |
Job Duties: | Diagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul aircraft engines and assemblies, such as hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Includes helicopter and aircraft engine specialists. Examine and inspect aircraft components, including landing gear, hydraulic systems, and deicers to locate cracks, breaks, leaks, or other problems. See more occupations related to this task. Conduct routine and special inspections as required by regulations. See more occupations related to this task. Inspect completed work to certify that maintenance meets standards and that aircraft are ready for operation. See more occupations related to this task. Read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine the feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components. Qualification Requirements: | Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautics or Aerodynamics; Possess a current FAA Airman Certificate with Airframe and/or Powerplant ratings; Possess the qualifications specified in FAR 119.71(e): i. 3 years of experience within the past 6 years maintaining aircraft as a certificated mechanic, including, at the time of appointment as Director of Maintenance, experience in maintaining the same category and class of aircraft such as Navajo Chieftains and Cherokee Sixes; or such as Navajo Chieftains and Cherokee Sixes; or; ii. Have 3 years of experience within the past 6 years repairing aircraft in a certificated airframe repair station, including 1 year in the capacity of approving aircraft for return to service Experience with reciprocating engines and general aviation aircraft and knowledge of Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program CAMP; Knowledge of all aspects of aircraft maintenance; Computer literate, preferably Windows based applications; Ability to plan and prioritize work efficiently; Highly motivated and hardworking, must be able work in a multi-cultural environment |
