| Job Duties: | Maintains all gardens, lawns, undeveloped land and paved area at assigned location(s). Assignment may be to any individual combination of private and government owned or leased properties. Performs basic gardening functions independently, more advanced functions under supervision. Operates all types of trade related motorized equipment and hand tools. Responsible for light maintenance of gardening equipment. Knowledge of current best practices in gardening & horticulture methods, materials, and plants. Knowledge of the safe handling of gardening tools and gasoline or electrically operated gardening machineries. Operation and maintenance of drip and sprinkler system. Use of proper pesticides/ insecticides/ herbicides. Must be in good physical condition to perform arduous manual labor out door in all types of weather. Operating knowledge of all types of power gardening tools and machinery. |

| Qualification Requirements: | High school level education and an equivalent. Little or no previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is needed for these occupations. For example, a person can become a waiter or waitress even if he/she has never worked before. Must arrive for work on time, all of the time. Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays, as required. Must be able to plan and execute gardening, work in a self-contained environment and work cooperatively with follow workers and supervisors. Must be able to read, and write basic English and speak and understand spoken English well. Ability to converse in Tagalog or Chamorro or other non-English languages preferred. Additional requirements: All applicants must be of good health and good moral character, must be able to follow grooming standards, must have no criminal history and be able to provide current police and court clearance upon pre employment selection, must be able to obtain health certificate, must be able to work lawfully in the CNMI, must have reliable transportation to and from the places of work, and must agree to a drug test. |
