Job Duties: | •Implements quality control along with consistency for all service routines; •Develops and adapts work schedules to fit current business level; •Implements regular departmental line-ups as a routine; • Controls, maintains and manages floor inventory and supplies; •Involved in ordering and receiving required restaurant supplies; •Conveys clearly any need for maintenance of equipment and other security problems; •Gathers data, compiles, reviews and submits essential daily, weekly, and monthly reports; • Supervises other waiters/waitresses directly including scheduling and ensuring adequate coverage of staff for restaurant service; •Supervises and coordinates relevant activities of front of house; •Trains new waiters/waitresses workers; •Check patrons' identification in order to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages; •Collect payments from customers; •Write patrons' food orders on order slips, memorize orders, or enter orders into computers for transmittal to kitchen staff; •Take orders from patrons for food or beverages; • Check with customers to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems; •Serve food and/or beverages to patrons; prepare and serve specialty dishes at tables as required; •Prepare checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales taxes; • Remove dishes and glasses from tables or counters, and take them to kitchen for cleaning; •Present menus to patrons and answer questions about menu items, making recommendations upon request; •Inform customers of daily specials; •Clean tables and/or counters after patrons have finished dining; • Prepare hot, cold, and mixed drinks for patrons, and chill bottles of wine; •Explain how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods; •Prepare tables for meals, including setting up items such as linens, silverware, and glassware; • Perform food preparation duties such as preparing salads, appetizers, and cold dishes, portioning desserts, and brewing coffee; •Stock service areas with supplies such as coffee, food, tableware, and linens. •Garnish and decorate dishes in preparation for serving; •Fill salt, pepper, sugar, cream, condiment, and napkin containers. |

Qualification Requirements: | •18 years of age or older; •Prior supervisory experience; experience in a high volume restaurant preferred; •Excellent guest service and hospitality skills; •Strong problem solving and listening skills; • Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; •Bilingual (Mandarin-English) abilities preferred; •Ability to lift and carry up to (30) pounds at a time; •Ability to perform various activities such as constant standing, walking, frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, and squatting; •Ability to multi-task several activities and duties simultaneously; •Ability to function and act independently; •Ability to work well with people, in a team environment, and to communicate effectively both written & oral; •Ability to function in a fast paced environment, under short time constraints, and within established deadlines; •Ability to work a flexible schedule including extended hours, weekends, and holidays; •Obtain/maintain alcohol awareness certification and food handler’s permit. |
