Job Duties: JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT JVA No. 16-070 Opening Date: Monday, November 21, 2016 ` Closing Date: Wednesday, December 07, 2016 Engineering Technician DUTIES: Under the Direct Supervision of the Power Division Manager or his/her designee. Provides technical support and assistance related to project management, safety, quality control and assurance; performs field investigations and inspections; performs field or easement verifications; monitors equipment and materials used; ensures adherence with plans, specifications and contractual compliance; and submits deficiencies for review and correction. Gathers data through observation and by reviewing relevant resources such as construction plans, blue prints, specifications, maps, technical drawings, property records, and/or GPS data. Enters, updates and verifies data in systems; prepares and maintains reports, notices, drawings, graphs, charts, correspondence, cost estimates and related engineering documents in accordance with standards. Plans and prioritizes schedule and routes for field inspections; researches existing project sites and explores potential construction sites; monitors rights of way and easements. Monitors and reviews equipment and supplies inventory; provides notification of resource or maintenance needs. Provides support and assistance with special engineering studies. Position may require to be on call outside of normal working hours. Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned LOCATION : Power Division T&D, Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands, USA. SALARY : $20,826.00 to $28,115.00 per annum. (Salary is negotiable based on experience and qualifications) POSITIONS : One (1). CONTRACT : Not Contracted.

Qualification Requirements: MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education: High School Diploma, GED, or ABE Program AS and 2 years of journey level experience in drafting, office and field engineering, or surveying support work. Knowledge of: Applicable Federal, Commonwealth and local laws, codes, regulations and/or ordinances; Basic engineering and construction terminology, methods, practices, and techniques; Surveying methods and techniques; Mathematical concepts; Applicable equipment, controls and systems of assigned area of responsibility; Modern office technology. Skill In: Interpreting and applying applicable laws, codes, regulations and standards; Reading and interpreting plans, specifications, maps and related technical documentation; Performing engineering surveys, mapping and locating; Performing inspections and identifying issues in assigned area of responsibility; Operating and maintaining equipment in assigned area of responsibility; Performing mathematical calculations and estimating resources and costs; Researching, troubleshooting and problem solving; Preparing technical reports, maps and related documents used in assigned area of responsibility; Applying safe work practices; Planning and prioritizing activities and routes; Utilizing a computer and relevant software applications; Utilizing communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, and others to sufficiently exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
