Job Title: | SENIOR PLANT OPERATOR |
Job Duties: | Adjust controls to generate specified electrical power or to regulate the flow of power between generating stations and substations. See more occupations related to this task. Monitor power plant equipment and indicators to detect evidence of operating problems. See more occupations related to this task. Control generator output to match the phase, frequency, or voltage of electricity supplied to panels. See more occupations related to this task. Control or maintain auxiliary equipment, such as pumps, fans, compressors, condensers, feedwater heaters, filters, or chlorinators, to supply water, fuel, lubricants, air, or auxiliary power. Control power generating equipment, including boilers, turbines, generators, or reactors, using control boards or semi-automatic equipment. .Reports to General Manager in charge. Supervise and coordinates activities of workers engaged in operation, control and maintenance of electrical power generating, receiving and distribution stations, transmission lines, and distribution systems and equipment;Devises and writes operating procedures for plant system, transmission and distribution lines, and receiving and distribution stations based on review and interpretation of government regulations. Supervises and approves reading of charts, meters, and gauges to monitor voltage and electricity flows.Supervises proper check/maintenance of equipment and indicators to detect evidence of operating problems. Supervises proper adjustment controls to regulate the flow of power or electrical output from plant to distribution stations. Administer all safety standards (OSHA) and responsible for training and enforcing applicable federal and local policy and procedures. |

Qualification Requirements: | • High School Diploma. • Some previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is usually needed. • Experience in SCADA (System Control and Data Acquisition) – Automation and high voltage power generation facilities and transmission/distribution systems. Combination of education and work experience is accepted as a minimum entry for this position. Foreign Equivalence is acceptable. Employees in these occupations need anywhere from a few months to one year of working with experienced employees.These occupations often involve using your knowledge and skills to help others. |
