Job Title: Lifeguard
Job Duties: Examine injured persons and administer first aid or cardiopulmonary resuscitation, if necessary, using training and medical supplies and equipment. Contact emergency medical personnel in case of serious injury. Rescue distressed persons, using rescue techniques and equipment. Instruct participants swimming and provide safety precaution information. Patrol or monitor swimming areas on foot. Complete and maintain records of weather and beach conditions, emergency medical treatments performed, and other relevant incident information. Maintain quality of pool water by testing chemical levels. Warn recreational participants of inclement weather, unsafe areas, or illegal conduct. Observe activities in assigned areas, using binoculars, to detect hazards, disturbances, or safety infractions.
High School Diploma Required? Undetermined
Qualification Requirements: Minimum a few months to 1 year work experience. Must have Lifeguard/CPR certificate is a plus. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities. This includes symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions, and preventive health-care measures. Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem. Administer first aid. Rescue people from hazardous situations.
