Job Title: | DIESEL MECHANIC |
Job Duties: | FIX EVERY SINGLE PART OF A DIESEL TRUCK WITH KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL SETS TO COMPLETE ALL REQUIRED TASKS. DIAGNOSE EVERY SINGLE POSSIBLE PROBLEM WITH A DIESEL TRUCK. TEACH AND MENTOR APPRENTICES, ASSISTANTS AND COWORKERS ON ALL TASKS. REBUILD DIESEL AND GAS ENGINES.INSPECT BRAKE SYSTEMS, STEERING MECHANISMS, WHEEL BEARING AND OTHER IMPORTANT PARTS TO ENSURE THAT THEY ARE IN PROPER OPERATION CONDITION. ADJST AND RELINE BRAKES, ALIGN WHEELS, TIGHTEN BOLTS AND SCREW AND REASSEMBLE EQUIPMENT. TEAR DOWN, REPAIR AND REBUILD FAULTY ASSEMBLIES SUCH AS POWER SYSTEMS, STEERING SYSTEMS AND LINKAGES. INSPECT AND VERIFY DIMENSIONS AND CLEARANCES OF PARTS TO ENSURE CONFORMANCE TO FACTORY SPECIFICATIONS.perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries and lubrication equipment and machinery. test Drive trucks to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly. raise trucks or equipment using hydraulic boom hoist attached to hydraulic boom hoists attached to boom trucks. follow checklists and create them when necessary to ensure all important parts are examined, including belts, hoses, steering systems, spark plugs, brake and fuel systems, wheel bearing and other potentially troublesome areas. attach test instruments to equipment and read dials and gauges to diagnose malfunctions. examine and adjust protective guards, loose belts and specified safety devices. review work order and discuss work with supervisors. use precision instrumental as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, lathers, welding equipment, jacks, hoists and hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges. |
