Job Title: Cook Helper
Job Duties: Performs any combination of the following duties to maintain kitchen work areas equipment and utensils in clean and proper condition, sweep and mop floors, wash work tables, walls and refrigerator. Support the chef or head cook’s effort to run and maintain the kitchen and prepare and present food that will please the customers. Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas. Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils. Wash, peel, and cut various foods, such as fruits and vegetables, to prepare for cooking or serving. Pre-cook items to prepare them for later use. Store food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage. Inform supervisors when equipment is not working properly and when food and supplies are getting low, and order needed items. Label and store leftover food to avoid serving errors and possibly spoilage and customer illness. Cook helpers smell, pierce, and taste food to check its doneness and quality to prevent undercooked and subpar food from being served to customers. Assist cooks and kitchen staff with various tasks as needed, and provide cooks with needed items. Does other related duties as assigned from time to time.

Qualification Requirements: Preferably a high school graduate with a minimum of a few day to few months of related training as a cook helper at a food service facility. Must have good communication skills and be flexible with schedule. Must be able to work on weekends and holidays. Applicants will be asked to complete a skilled test during the application process.
