Job Title: Early Learning Teacher/ Mentor Coach
Job Duties: • Provide ongoing outreach, training, consultation, coaching services, and other targeted/ customized professional development supports to child care providers, teachers, parents, partner agencies, and community members • Conduct scheduled and unscheduled observations of providers as directed to meet established standards • Work with providers to define specific, focused and clear goals and quality improvement plans • Orient and train providers according to established quality standards • Recognize high- and low-quality interactions, instructional support, and environments • Collect, interpret, and use data for quality improvement purposes • Understand, interpret, and implement all components of the Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS) ratings and improvement supports • Monitor program progress towards achieving quality • Understand responsibilities as a mandated reporter (including preparing and presenting information to providers, the community, and stakeholders) • Document work using the program’s computer-based data system • Develop and maintain schedules for on-site visits based on program need • Participate in professional development provided by Evergreen Learning and consultant partners • Participate in coach framework fidelity checks • Maintain provider, family, and child confidentiality • Report directly to Program Manager • Participate in a community of practice with other coaches and organization administration • Maintain 60 hours of annual professional development • Travel within Saipan, between the islands of the CNMI, and to other overseas destinations to work with licensed and license-exempt providers and/or for professional development • Work flexible hours that include evenings and weekends (total 40 hours/ week) • Perform all related duties

Qualification Requirements: • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development and Family Studies, Elementary Education, or related field • At least 3 years’ teaching experience/ working with young children in a group setting • Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practice from birth to school-age • Demonstrated ability to plan for and deliver developmentally-appropriate care/ lessons for young children (infants/ toddlers, preschoolers, or primary grades) • Demonstrated ability to translate training into practice • Ability to work one-on-one and in group settings with young children and with adults • Ability to individualize instruction for providers • Ability to review, analyze, and interpret assessment data • Demonstrated knowledge and competence in activity planning/coordinating • Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information appropriately • Strong oral and written communication skills in English • Proven ability to communicate with adults in a positive and proactive manner • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as a team member • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with people of varied social, cultural, and educational backgrounds • Knowledge of adult learning principles • Prior experience as a lead teacher, coach, consultant, mentor or trainer • Demonstrated knowledge of rules and regulations governing CCDF program participation and CNMI Licensing regulations • Familiarity with the CNMI Early Learning Guidelines • Familiarity with local provider, family, and child resources • Intermediate level skills in Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook • Experience with database entry and/or management • Ability to drive or provide own transportation • Availability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends • Willingness to travel within the CNMI and/ or to other overseas destinations for job-related activities
