Job Duties: | Interpret and translate verbal or written text from one language into another. Follow ethical codes that protect the confidentiality of information. Translate messages simultaneously or consecutively into specified languages, maintaining message content, context, and style as much as possible. Listen to speakers' statements to determine meanings and to prepare translations, using electronic listening systems as necessary. Read written materials, such as legal documents, company brochures/works, or news reports, and rewrite material into specified languages. Giving full attention to what others are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate. |

Qualification Requirements: | Applicant must have at least five years of experience as translator as well as prior experience of working at the tourism industry. Must have Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. Must be able to speak, read and understand Bengali and other south east Asian languages. Knowledge of the structure and content of a foreign (non-English) language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar, and pronunciation. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Preferably the general knowledge of customer service and laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules of the CNMI and the United States, etc. |
