Job Title: | General Maintenance and Repair Worker |
Job Duties: | Perform work involving the skills of two or more maintenance or craft occupations to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or the structure of an establishment or vessel in repair. Duties may involve pipe fitting: HVAC insulating; welding; machining; carpentry: repairing electrical or mechanical equipment; installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment; and repairing vessels, or establishment. Repair and adjust electrical and mechanical equipment of inboard or inboard-outboard boat engines. Repairs and maintains mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components of vessels. Inspect, operate, or test vessels or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions. Dismantle machines, equipment, or devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, or power tools. Perform routine maintenance, such as inspecting vessels engines, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or doing other preventive maintenance actions. Repair machines, equipments, or structures, using tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches, or equipment such precision measuring instruments or electrical or electronic testing devices. |

Qualification Requirements: | Applicant is able to work on a flexible working schedule: day and night shift, weekends, and holidays. Pre-employment drug testing and ongoing drug-testing will be paid for by the employer and will be applied equally to U.S. and CW-1 workers. Applicants must be physically able to perform efficently the duties of the position at sea and ashore. |
