Job Title: Bookkeeper
Job Duties: Compute, classify, and record numerical data to keep financial records complete. Operate computers programmed with accounting software to record, store, and analyze information. Perform any combination of routine calculating including but not limited to payroll computations, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records. Check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other workers. Code documents according to company procedures. Perform financial calculations, such as amounts due, interest charges, balances, discounts, equity, and principal. Reconcile or note and report discrepancies found in records. Perform general office duties, such as filing, answering telephones, and handling routine correspondence. Access computerized financial information to answer general questions as well as those related to specific accounts. Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records, using journals and ledgers or computers. Debit, credit, and total accounts on computer spreadsheets and databases, using specialized accounting software. Match order forms with invoices, and record the necessary information. Perform personal bookkeeping services. Prepare and process payroll information. Prepare bank deposits by compiling data from cashiers, verifying and balancing receipts, and sending cash, checks, or other forms of payment to banks. Compute deductions for income and social security taxes. Calculate and prepare checks for utilities, taxes, and other payments. Monitor status of loans and accounts to ensure that payments are up to date. Reconcile records of bank transactions. Compare computer printouts to manually maintained journals to determine if they match. Transfer details from separate journals to general ledgers or data processing sheets. Complete and submit tax forms and returns, workers' compensation forms, pension contribution forms, and other government documents. Calculate, prepare, and issue bills, invoices, account statements, and other financial statements according to established procedures. Prepare trial balances of books. Compile statistical, financial, accounting, or auditing reports and tables pertaining to such matters as cash receipts, expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, and profits and losses. May also tend to occasional customers purchasing parts and other products sold at the company’s retail store connected to the office, and do other related duties.

Qualification Requirements: Minimum education of Associate’s degree in Accounting, and 2 years of work experience as a bookkeeper or accountant required. Must have knowledge of accounting softwares, Quickbook and Peachtree, to maintain accounting records. Must be nowledgeable in general accounting and administrative duties in Saipan. Having experiences in progressive accounting, as well as knowedge in import/export preferable. CNMI Driver’s License.

Fringe Benefits: Compensations: Workers’ Compensation provided. 10 days of paid vacation, and 5 days of paid sick leave provided. Monthly allowances for housing ($150), gas ($50), medical ($100), cellphone use ($15) provided. Transportation and Subsistence Provided: If the worker is coming to work from abroad, and completes 50 percent of the work contract period, the employer will provide, reimburse, or advance payment for the worker’s transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for the worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker’s voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved.
