Job Title: Computer Technician
Job Duties: Answer user inquiries regarding computer software or hardware operation to resolve problems. Oversee the daily performance of computer systems. Read technical manuals, confer with users, or conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems or to provide technical assistance and support. Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cables, Operating systems, or appropriate software. Develop training materials and procedures, or train users in the proper use of hardware or software. Refer major hardware or software problems or defective products to vendors or technicians for service. Enter commands and observe system functioning to verify correct operations and detect errors. Maintain records of daily data communication transactions, problems and remedial actions taken, or installation activities. Install and perform minor repairs to hardware, software, or peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications. Prepare evaluations of software or hardware, and recommend improvements or upgrades. Confer with staff, users, and management to establish requirements for new systems or modifications. Modify and customize commercial programs for internal needs. Inspect equipment and read order sheets to prepare for delivery to users. Conduct office automation feasibility studies, including workflow analysis, space design, or cost comparison analysis.
Qualification Requirements: Education: minimum U.S. diploma/degree required - Associate's Degree Major in Computer Science; information technology. Must have at least 24 months experience in electronics and communication systems. Special Requirements: Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Determining how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes. Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming. Knowledge of transmission, broadcasting, switching, control, and operation of telecommunications systems.

Comments: The job opportunity is a temporary, full-time position commencing on October 1, 2019 to September 30, 2020 THREE-FOURTHS GUARANTEE: Workers will be offered employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays of the total period that begins with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or the advertised contractual first date of need, whichever is later, and ends on the expiration date specified in the work contract or in its extensions, if any. TRANSPORTATION AND SUBSISTENCE: If the worker completes 50 percent of the work contract period, the employer will provide, reimburse, or advance payment for the worker's transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for the worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker's voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved.
