Job Duties: | Develop design for garment, adapt existing design for garment or copies’ existing design for garment; Alter garment and join parts, using needle and thread or sewing machine to form finished garment; Draw individual pattern or alter existing pattern to fit customers’ measurement; Sew buttons and buttonholes to finish garment; Presses garment using hand iron or pressing machine; Confers with customers to determine type of material and garment style desired; Position pattern of garment parts on fabric and cuts fabric along outlines using scissors; Measure customers for size using tape measure and record measurements; Fit basted garment on customers’ and mark areas requiring alterations; Assemble garment parts and join parts with basting stitches using needle and thread or sewing machine; Remove stitches from garment to be altered using rippers or razor blades; Fit, alter, repair, and make made-to-measure clothing, according to customers’ and clothing manufacturers’ specifications and fit and applying principles of garment design, construction and styling; Repair or replace defective garment parts such as pockets, zippers, snaps, buttons and linings; Perform other related duties as may be required. |

Comments: | This job opportunity is for a temporary, full-time position commencing on October 1, 2019 until September 30, 2020. Three-Fourths Guarantee. Workers will be offered employment for a total number of hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays of the total period that begins with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or the advertised contractual first date of need, whichever is later, and ends on the expiration date specified in the work contract or in its extensions.
