Job Title: | REFUSE AND RECYCLABLE MATERIAL COLLECTORS |
Job Duties: | Sort materials such as metals, glass, paper, or plastics, into appropriate containers for recycling. Identify and remove hazardous substances. Dismantle components of products such as appliances. Clean recycling and by sweeping, raking, picking up broken glass and loose paper debris, or moving barrels and bins. Operate forklifts, pallet, jacks, power lifts, or front-end loaders to load bales, bundles, or other heavy items onto trucks for shipping to smelters or other recycled materials processing facilities. Sort metals to separate high-grade metals, such as copper, brass, and aluminum for recycling. Assist with cleaning facilities, equipment, tools and providing manual labor services as required. Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant legislation, policies and procedures. May drive vehicle equipped with rotating brushes to remove sand and litter from newly constructed highways and be designated Sweeper Operator, Highways. Drives sweeping machine that cleans streets of trash and other accumulations. Operate sewer cleaning eipment, including power rodders, high velocity water jets, sewer flushers, bucket machines, Wayne balls, andvac-alls. Measure excavation sites, using plumbers' snakes, tapelines, or lengths of cutting heads within s ewers, and mark areas for digging. Clean and repair septic tanks, sewer lines, or drains. May patch walls an d partitions of tank, replace damaged drain tile, or repair breaks in underground piping. Deliver, perform service cleanings and pickup portable toilets as necessary. Drive service truck to specific contract rental j ob sites, clean/empty portable toilets and sign off on service log tag inside restroom along a designated route as assigned. Deliver and pickup portable toilets. Keep assigned vehicle clean on the inside and outside ? Maintain cleanliness of the recycling areas. All other duties as assigned and needed |

Qualification Requirements: | Workers should be reliable, responsible, and dependable. Should be honest and ethical. Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance is preferred. Has the ability to coordinate two or more limbs, ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions. Able to work flexible hours, holidays and weekend. Motivated and a self-starter yet able to work within a team to accomplish large jobs efficiently. Ability to work in a fast paced environment. |
