Job Duties: | Under the general supervision of the Chief Medical Officer, the employee in this position is responsible to help patients by providing information, services, and assistance. Other duties include securing medical records; maintaining medical supplies; performing preventative maintenance to keep equipment operating. Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; reviewing and/or recording medical history; taking vital signs; confirming purpose of visit or treatment. Supports patient care delivery by helping health care providers during examinations; preparing laboratory specimens; performing basic laboratory tests on the premises; disposing of contaminated supplies; sterilizing medical instruments; administering medications on the premises; authorizing drug refills as directed; telephoning prescriptions to pharmacies; preparing patients for x-rays; taking electrocardiograms; removing sutures; changing dressings. Educates patients by providing medication and diet information and instructions; answering questions. Completes records by recording patient examination, treatment, and test results. Generates revenues by recording billing information of services rendered; completing insurance forms; responding to insurance and other third-party inquiries. Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations. Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping patient care information confidential. Serves and protects the physician or health care provider practice by adhering to professional standards, policies, and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements. Enhances health care practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. The employee in this position is responsible for providing assistance to the patients for getting the doctor’s appointments, pre-certifications, admissions and inquiries from insurance companies. Their routine tasks involve interviewing patients, registering, entering data into the computer, receiving phone calls and inquiring to insurance service providers and companies. He/she assist patients without insurance apply for Sliding Fee Discount Program. Performs other related duties as assigned. |

Qualification Requirements: | Any combination equivalent to satisfactory completion of an accredited program or have completed at least one (1) full year of a two (2) year nursing program from a recognized college or university. Plus six (6) months training or experience in practical clinic skill such as taking vitals, assisting with EKG, conducting patient interviews. Ability to work effectively with coworkers and clients. Must have good oral and written communication skills. Comprehensive of basic medical information. Computer literacy is necessary. |
