Job Title: Clinical Nurse Specialist
Job Duties: Plan, direct, or coordinate the daily patient care activities in a clinical practice. Ensure adherence to established clinical policies, protocols, regulations, and standards. Duties and Responsibilities: • Collaborate with other health care professionals and service providers to ensure optimal patient care. • Provide consultation to other health care providers in areas such as patient discharge, patient care, or clinical procedures. • Manage the medical care coordination functions of the Saipan Branch Office and the nurse coordination tasks of the Philippine Branch office. Coordinates outpatient, home health and inpatient care for Plan member and patients. • Communicates with the patient, attending physicians, nurses, case managers, social workers, other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team and patient family members about care options, treatment alternatives, company procedures, and plan coverage to assist them in making informed decision about the treatment plan. • Develop or assist others in the development of care and treatment plans. • Develop and maintain departmental policies, procedures, objectives, or patient care standards, based on evidence-based practice guidelines or expert opinion. • Read current literature, talk with colleagues, or participate in professional organizations or conferences to keep abreast of developments in nursing. • Review medical records, patient charts and clinical information collected by health support staff and a customer care representative to ensure that care received by the Plan member is consistent with the standard of care excellence and to make sure that Health Plan benefit coverage is optimized. • Develop, implement, or evaluate standards of nursing practice in specialty areas such as pediatrics, acute care, and geriatrics. • Design evaluation programs regarding the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice or organizational systems. • Plan, evaluate, or modify treatment programs, based on information gathered by observing and interviewing patients or by analyzing patient records. • Direct or supervise nursing care staff in the provision of patient therapy. • Instruct nursing staff in areas such as the assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of disability, illness, management, technology, or resources. • Monitor or evaluate medical conditions of patients in collaboration with other health care professionals. • Design patient education programs that include information required to make informed health care and treatment decisions. • Provide specialized direct and indirect care to inpatients and outpatients within a designated specialty, such as obstetrics, neurology, oncology, or neonatal care. • Make clinical recommendations to physicians, other health care providers, insurance companies, patients, or health care organizations. • Maintain departmental policies, procedures, objectives, or infection control standards. • Present clients with information required to make informed health care and treatment decisions. • Participate in clinical research projects, such as by reviewing protocols, reviewing patient records, monitoring compliance, and meeting with regulatory authorities. • Observe, interview, and assess patients to identify care needs. • Write nursing orders. • Coordinate or conduct educational programs or in-service training sessions on topics such as clinical procedures. • Teach patient education programs that include information required to make informed health care and treatment decisions. • Prepare reports to document patients' care activities. • Provide direct care by performing comprehensive health assessments, developing differential diagnoses, conducting specialized tests, or prescribing medications or treatments.

Qualification Requirements: • Doctorate Degree in Medicine or a current RN License (may be foreign equivalent) or post graduate degree in medicine; plus • Minimum of two (2) years experience in medical case management and underwriting; and • Proficiency in Milliman care Guidleins (MCG) Medical Society Guidelines.

Comments: This job opportunity is a temporary, full-time position and must have at least 24 months of work experience. Work days will be Monday to Friday (Flexible days) and work hours will be from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. With this position the employer also offers the three-fourths guarantee as required by 20 CFR 655.423(f) wherein three fourths is defined as an offer to workers full-time employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays of each 12- week period (or 6-week period if the employment covered by the job is less than 120 days.) Transportation and Subsistence: If the Employee completes 50 percent of the work contract, the employer will provide or reimburse the worker’s transportation and subsistence costs from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Outbound transportation and subsistence costs will be paid by the Employer if the Employee completes the work period covered by the work contract or where the worker dismissed earlier.
