Job Duties: | Responsible to assist the Sous Chef for the Western Cuisine section in the kitchen operation and ensure the company’s reputation for food quality is maintained at all times. Prepare and train other cooks to prepare dishes from the Western cuisine menu and monitor sanitation practices to ensure that employees follow standards and regulations. Check the quality of raw or cooked food products to ensure that standards are met and estimate amounts and costs of required supplies, such as food and ingredients. Instruct cooks and other workers in the preparation, cooking, garnishing, or presentation of food and supervise, coordinate activities of cooks and workers engaged in food preparation. Inspect and clean food preparation areas, such as equipment, work surfaces, and serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices. Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperature by regulating temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters. Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stock and turn or stir foods to ensure even cooking. Season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment and experience. May perform other related to this position. |

Qualification Requirements: | Two (2) years of work experience in Western, Japanese, Korean and/or Chinese cuisine(s) required. College degree or other formal training certification preferred. Must be able to work well under pressure; lift at least 50 lbs; work nights, weekends, and holidays; obtain a food handler’s certificate; and have knowledge in proper food handling and sanitation practices. Must have knowledge/ skills in Coordination, Monitoring, Speaking, Active Listening, and Service Orientation. |
