Job Title: | Assistant Golf Course Superintendent |
Job Duties: | Assistant superintendent assists the golf course superintendent in maintaining the aesthetics of the golf course. They are also responsible for staff scheduling and training, overseeing fertility and pesticide programs, ensuring proper operation of the irrigation system as well as participating in all ongoing projects on the golf course. Assist the Golf Course Superintendent on all phases of golf course maintenance including operations, cost control, and personnel. Works closely with, advises, and coordinates the Golf Course Superintendent on any issues related to golf course maintenance. Directs and participates in the maintenance of the grounds and designs and implements landscape plans. Administers and enforces rules, regulations, and policies for staff. Also, oversees the care and maintenance of the turf, ornamental plants, shrubs, trees, water hazards, and sand bunkers on the facility grounds. Recruits, supervises and retains maintenance staff. Moreover, conducts employee performance evaluations and exercises disciplinary action. Oversees subordinates in proper and safe operation and maintenance of mechanical and power equipment. Performs other duties as assigned. |

Qualification Requirements: | A two years of golf course maintenance experience and related field in a supervisory capacity of at least forty employees. Knowledge of irrigation operation and water management. Knowledge of golf course equipment, maintenance and repairs. Experience and knowledge of golf course operation. Excellent leadership skills and trouble shooting skills. Experience in supervising, directing, scheduling staff. Knowledge of computer programs. Knowledge of fertility and application methods. Excellent communication skills. Knowledge of the game of golf. Pesticide Applicator certification. Valid driver’s license. Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions; skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards. |

Comments: | The job opportunity is a temporary, full-time position commencing on October 01, 2020 to September 30, 2021. THREE-FOURTHS GUARANTEE: Workers will be offered employment for a total of number of work hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays of the total period and begins with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment of the advertised contractual first date of need, whichever is later, and ends on the expiration date specified in the work contract or in its extensions, if any. TRANSPORTATION AND SUBSISTENCE: required by 20 CFR655.423(j)(l); If the worker completes 50 percent of the work contract period, the employer will provide reimburse, or advance payment for the worker's transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon the completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for the worker's reasonable cost of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker's voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Frequency of pay: Bi-weekly, subjected to mandatory payroll tax deduction required by law (20 CFR 655.423(h). Upon conclusion of the job opportunity, employer will provide the return transportation and substance to the place of origin or place of recruitment (20 CFR 655.423(k)(1)) Employer-Provided Tools and Equipment: Workers will be provided, without charge or deposit charge, all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the duties assigned (20 CFR 655.423(k)).This is a non-exempt position and is eligible to receive overtime compensation in accordance to The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
