Job Title: | Automotive Mechanic |
Job Duties: | Examines vehicle and discusses with customer or AUTOMOBILE-REPAIR-SERVICE ESTIMATOR (automotive ser.); an AUTOMOBILE TESTER (automotive ser.); or BUS INSPECTOR (automotive ser.) nature and extent of damage or malfunction. •Plans work procedure, using charts, technical manuals, and experience. •Raises vehicle, using hydraulic jack or hoist, to gain access to mechanical units bolted to underside of vehicle. •Removes unit, such as engine, transmission, or differential, using wrenches and hoist. Disassembles unit and inspects parts for wear, using micrometers, calipers, and thickness gauges. • Repairs or replaces parts, such as pistons, rods, gears, valves, and bearings, using mechanic's hand tools. • Overhauls engines or replaces carburetors, blowers, generators, distributors, starters and pumps. • Rebuilds parts, such as crankshafts and cylinder blocks, using lathes, shapers, drill presses, and welding equipment. •Rewires ignition system, lights and instrument panel. •Relines and adjusts brakes, aligns front end, repair or replaces shock absorbers, and solders leak on radiator. •Mends damaged body and fenders by hammering out or filling in dents and welding broken parts.• Replaces and adjusts headlights, and installs and repairs accessories, such as radios, heaters, mirrors and windshield wipers. |

Qualification Requirements: | The successful applicants must have: Formal training on automotive repair; Must be able to read electrical wiring diagram. Minimum of two years experience in automotive industry; Must be punctual, have interpersonal skills and good communication skills; Must be able to meet physical demands such as ability to stand for long periods of time, must be able to lift at least 50 lbs, must be able to climb, bend, stoop and reach; and must be able to work under extreme pressure in a fast-paced working environment |

Comments: | The job opportunity is a temporary, full-time position. THREE-FOURTHS GUARANTEE: Workers will be offered employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays of the total period that begins with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or the advertised contractual first date of need, whichever is later, and ends on the expiration date specified in the work contract or in its extensions, if any. TRANSPORTATION AND SUBSISTENCE: If the worker completes 50 percent of the work contract period, the employer will provide, reimburse, or advance payment for the worker's transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for the worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker's voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved.
