Job Duties: | -Operate and maintain platemaking equipment that converts electronic data to plates without the use of film; -Adjust and clean equipment and perform minor repairs; -Generate prepress proofs in digital or other format to approximate the appearance of the final printed piece; -Proofread and perform quality control of text and images; -Operate presses to print proofs of plates, monitoring printing quality to ensure that it is adequate; -Examine finished plates to detect flaws, verify conformity with master plates, and measure dot sizes and centers, using light boxes and microscopes; -Examine photographic images for obvious imperfections prior to platemaking; -Operate and maintain a variety of press equipment such as color separation cameras, enlargers, electronic scanners and contact equipment; -Perform minor deletions, additions, or corrections to completed plates, on or off printing presses, using tusche, printing ink, erasers and needles. |

Qualification Requirements: | Associate degree in related course; 24 months of work experience as prepress technician; Able to operate various prepress equipment; Operate computer, updated with technology skills; Communicate in English language; Ability to prepare reports, compute materials, prepare estimates and cost of job; Ability to perform minor repairs and maintenance of printing equipment; Must be able to identify processes required in printing and binding operation; Ability to evaluate color density, sizes, screen rulings and exposure adjustments; Attended safety classes. |

Comments: | The job opportunity is TEMPORARY, FULL TIME. THREE-FOURTHS GUARANTEE: Worker will be offered employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays of the total period that begins with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or the advertised contractual first date of need, whichever is later, and ends on the expiration date specified in the work contract or in its extensions, if any. INBOUND/OUTBOUND TRANSPORTATION and SUBSISTENCE to the work while travelling from employees origin to the place of employment, as well as provide or pay for worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker’s voluntary abandonment of employment.
