Job Title: | Automotive Service Technician and Mechanic |
Job Duties: | • Perform repairs and routine maintenance like oil changes, tune-ups, tire rotations, fluid level checks and replacements as needed for all company fleet vehicles. Troubleshoot issues promptly to minimize vehicle downtime. • Diagnose malfunctions and mechanical problems using diagnostic equipment like computer scanners, pressure gauges, and oscilloscopes. Root cause issues impacting engine, transmission, drive train, brakes, steering/suspension electrical systems and emission control components. • Replace and rebuild vehicle parts as needed including engines, transmissions, rear axles, brakes, CV joints, starters, alternators and more. Ensure proper installation and that all components meet OEM specifications and warranty requirements. • Consult repair manuals, parts catalogs and technical service bulletins to determine appropriate solutions and components for mechanical problems. Call the manufacturer parts/service line for guidance on more complex or specialized issues. • Ensure proper use of all tools and equipment like clutches, bearing pullers, torching equipment, tire balancers, alignment machines, etc. Help maintain tools in good working condition. Make recommendations on needed equipment or software/service tools. • Maintain records of all service, maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs performed on vehicles. Note issues that could impact warranty coverage or the need for future rebuilding/upfitting. • Provide guidance and on-the-job training to less experienced technicians and mechanics based on your knowledge and experience. Help manage the day-to-day activities of the service team. • Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Manager to ensure optimal performance, safety and upkeep of all commercial fleet vehicles. |

Comments: | The job opportunity is a temporary, full-time position. THREE-FOURTHS GUARANTEE: Workers will be offered employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays of the total period that begins with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or the advertised contractual first date of need, whichever is later, and ends on the expiration date specified in the work contract or in its extensions, if any. TRANSPORTATION AND SUBSISTENCE: If the worker completes 50 percent of the work contract period, the employer will provide, reimburse, or advance payment for the worker’s transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for the worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker’s voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved.
