Job Title: Electrician
Job Duties: Job Summary: Under limited supervision by the Regional General Service Manager, the Electrician performs all duties related to installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical equipment, machinery, and generators, as well as lighting, wiring and other elements of building electrical systems, ensuring all work meets relevant codes and standards. In addition, the Electrician assists with the maintenance and repair of the electrical elements of telecom cell-sites and will also perform non-electrical maintenance, repair and support tasks and duties within the limits of the employee’s abilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Employee will: 1. Know and uphold the established IT&E Mission, policies and procedures, Department objectives, quality assurance and safety programs and standards. 2. Perform a wide range of electrical tasks in the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical equipment, machinery, and generators, as well as lighting, wiring and other elements of building electrical systems, ensuring all work meets relevant codes and standards. 3. Maintain standby generators systems to enhance communication system reliability. Inspects, tests, evaluates, cabarets and upgrade generator systems and wiring. 4. Remove, relocate, repair, install, and test electrical equipment (switches, wiring, receptacles, lights, circuits, etc.) 5. Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. 6. Install battery backup for cell-site locations. 7. Place conduit (pipes or tubing) inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes. 8. Repair or replace wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools. 9. Use a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools and testing equipment, including ammeters and test lamps. 10. Plan the layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes. Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components, as required. 11. Maintain documents on work performed and materials used on all tasks performed. 12. Assist in inventory control and in mid- and end-of-year counts and prepare periodic reports, as required. 13. Provide manpower and logistical support to all Company departments and offices, as needed such as assisting in office moves and in setting up tents, tables and chairs for company functions. 14. Maintain cleanliness in the warehouse, workshops, and worksites, maintaining accountability and work condition for tools, equipment and supplies used in the job. 15. Assist in maintenance of Company buildings, such as building painting and renovations, cleaning and painting parking lot stalls, minor building equipment repairs and other tasks within the employee’s capabilities. 16. Available and willing to work on weekends and nights, working overtime as required; also available and willing to respond to 24-hours emergency calls to perform emergency building and cell site repairs during off-duty hours. 17. Perform other related duties, as required.

Qualification Requirements: Education: Ability to speak, read and write English to a level that allows the employee to understand instructions, electrical and other work-related plans and diagrams, Company policies and procedures and to create and maintain maintenance records and reports. Graduate of an accredited Trade School commercial electrical program or with an additional two years of relevant experience. Work Experience: Minimum of eight years of experience as a commercial electrician with building and equipment maintenance experience.
