Job Title: Refuse & Recyclable Material Collectors
Job Duties: Collect garbage from buildings, business and facilities as per schedule to ensure garbage is removed, transported and dispose of according to set policies and procedure. Collect and dump refuse or recyclable materials from containers into truck then dump at disposal sites. Assist the operator of the garbage truck and can operate all equipment in a safe and effective way in disposing all garbage. Provide manual assistance on various task and assignments. May drive truck, following established routes, through residential streets or alleys or through business or industrial areas. Operate automated or semi-automated hoisting devices that raise refuse bins and dump contents into openings in truck bodies. Inspect trucks prior to beginning routes to ensure safe operating condition. Following established routes, through residential streets or alleys or through business or industrial areas. Operate equipment that compresses collected refuse.
High School Diploma Required? Yes
Qualification Requirements: Must have 12 months of work-related experience as refuse and recyclable materials collector. Must have the ability to operate automated or semi-automated hoisting devices that raise refuse bins and dump contents into opening in truck bodies. Knowledge of machine and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Skilled in controlling operations of equipment or system. Must have basic knowledge of water, sewer, and garbage truck equipment operation. Must know how to perform routine maintenance on equipment to determine what kind of maintenance is needed. A CNMI driver's license is required and will apply equally to both U.S. workers and CW-1 workers.
