Job Title: Combined Food Preparation & Serving Workers
Job Duties: Prepare daily food items, and cook simple foods and beverages, such as sandwiches, salads, soups, pizza, or coffee, using proper safety precautions and sanitary measures. Clean and organize eating, service, and kitchen areas. Monitor and order supplies or food items and restock as necessary to maintain inventory. Serve customers in places that specialize in fast service and inexpensive carry-out food. Collect and return dirty dishes to the kitchen for washing. Wash dishes, glassware, and silverware after meals. Notify kitchen personnel of shortages or special orders. Prepare and serve cold drinks, frozen milk drinks, or desserts, using drink-dispensing, milkshake, or frozen custard machines. Select food items from serving or storage areas and place them in dishes, on serving trays, or in take-out bags. Cook or reheat food items such as french fries. Distribute food to customers. Pack food, dishes, utensils, tablecloths, and accessories for transportation from catering or food preparation establishments to locations designated by customers. Arrange tables and decorations according to instructions. Serve food and beverages to guests at banquets or other social functions. Provide caterers with assistance in food preparation or service. Planned, prepare, and deliver meals to individuals with special dietary needs.
High School Diploma Required? Yes
Qualification Requirements: Applicant must have at least 3 months of training in food handling safety, food processing, and other similar topics. Must have at least 3 months of experience as a kitchen helper, food server, food preparation and/or similar occupation. Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control. Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions. Ability to read and write. Ability to understand and follow safety procedures. Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and supplies. Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects up to 25 lbs. Knowledge of food service line set-up and temperature requirements. Skill in cooking and preparing a variety of foods. Knowledge of food preparation and presentation methods, techniques, and quality standards. Must obtain Food Handler's Certification from the CNMI Department of Public Health as required by law. Must be able to work on flexible hours including holidays, weekends, and evening shifts from 6 am to 5 pm.

Comments: Three-Fourths Guarantee: Workers will be offered employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays of the total period that begins with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or the advertised contractual first date of need, whichever is later, and ends on the expiration date specified in the work contract or in its extensions, if any.
