Job Duties: | Report to duty punctually wearing the correct uniform, clean and well pressed including appropriate shoes (polished) and name tag at all times. Complete opening duties and procedures established at the OHAS Cafe/Bakery. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests’ service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation.To provide excellent service to customers as appropriate. To ensure that the assigned place of work and surrounding area is kept clean and organized at all times.To perform general cleaning duties as assigned by the Assistant Manager or Supervisor. To empty rubbish bins according to scheduled garbage runs.To strictly adhere to the opening and closing procedures established for the department.To treat all operating equipment and supplies carefully to minimize damage and reduce wastage.To work in a supportive and flexible manner with other employees and other departments, in a spirit of “We work through Teams”.To report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform and name tag.To maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene and adhere to the hotel and department grooming standards.To provide friendly, courteous and professional service at all times.To maintain good working relationships with colleagues and all other departments. To read the hotel’s Employee Handbook and have an understanding of and adhere to the hotel’s rules and regulations and in particular, the policies and procedures relating to Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety.To respond to any changes in the department as dictated by the needs of the hotel.To be flexible in your job function and perform any other reasonable duties and responsibilities which may be assigned to you, including redeployment to other departments/areas if required, in order to meet business demands and guest service needs.To attend training sessions and meetings as and when required. Special Project and duties assigned by Management should be completed.Have knowledge and understanding to perform up-selling all items offered at the bakery assigned as well as offering alternatives. Accurately compute sales prices, total purchases, and receive and process cash payment, credit cards, refunds/cancellation transactions. Record transaction in POS system at the time of order. Assist customers in choosing cakes, pastries, bread and other bakery products including non-alcoholic drinks according to their specific tastes. Protect the privacy and security of guests and coworkers Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and materials and protect company assets. Prepare merchandise for selling including beverages for purchase. Prepare customers with information on freshly baked products and non-alcoholic drinks and their ingredients. Pick choses pieces, inquire how customers would like them to be packed, and pack them accordingly to their special request. Carry baked goods the display cases for proper set up according to company standards. Pick-Up trays and clean tables as needed to ensure a clean dining area. Maintain cleanliness of work areas, china, glass, etc., throughout the day. Maintain cleanliness of work and guest areas by cleaning, collecting and returning food and beverage items to proper area. Monitor operating supplies, equipment and reduce spoilage and wastage successfully. Handle guest inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner. Report guest complaints immediately to the supervisors and ensuring follow up is performed with the guest. Complete closing duties, including restocking items, turning off lights, etc. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support team to reach common goals, and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees. Perform any special project and duties assigned by Supervisor and Management. |

Qualification Requirements: | Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Have at least three months of work-related experience. Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance and objects in excess of 50 pounds with assistance. Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces as well as up and down stairs and/or service ramps. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Some experience or knowledge to operate the point-of-sale POS software and/or MICROS system. Able and willing to work flexible shifts, day, evening, weekend and holidays. |
