Job Title: | Reinforcing Metal Worker |
Job Duties: | Position and secure steel bars or mesh in concrete forms in order to reinforce concrete. Determines sizes, shapes and location of reinforcing rods from blueprints, sketches, or oral instructions to prepare layout and determine materials required. Prepare rebar or mesh for installation using metal shears, hacksaw, and torches. Cut rods to required lengths and place rods in forms by spacing and fastening them together using wire and pliers. Bends or welds rebar together and installs cables using pliers to tie wire around rods to fasten them together. May use a variety of fasteners, rod-bending machines, blowtorches, and hand tools. *Special wage rate: Work to be performed on DPRI-funded projects and projects covered by Davis Bacon, Service Contracts Act, and/or Executive Order 14206 will be paid no less than the indicated wage rate but may be paid more where special rates apply. |

Qualification Requirements: | Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and one year work experience as a reinforcing metal worker. Successful applicants must be able to obtain miliary base access. Off island hires must complete a pre-arrival and post-arrival health screening. |
