Job Title: | AUTOMOTIVE MASTER MECHANIC |
Job Duties: | 1. Test drive vehicles and test components and systems, using equipment such as infrared engine analyzers, compression gauges and computerized diagnostic devices. 2. Test and adjust repaired systems to meet manufacturer’s performance specifications. 3. Repair, reline, replace and adjust brakes. 4. Review work orders and discuss work with supervisors. 5. Examine vehicles to determine extent of damage or malfunctions. 6. Align vehicles’ front ends. 7. Tear down, repair and rebuild faulty assemblies, such as power systems, steering systems, and linkages. 8. Perform routine and scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrication and tune-ups. 9. Plan work procedures, using charts, technical manuals and experience. 10. Follow checklists to ensure all important parts are examined, including belts, hoses, steering systems, spark plugs, brake and fuel systems, wheel bearings and other potentially troublesome areas. 11. Maintain cleanliness of work area. 12. Repair radiator leaks. 13. Repair and service air conditioning, heating, engine cooling and electrical systems. 14. Disassemble units and inspect parts for wear, using micrometers, calipers, and gauges. 15. Overhaul or replace carburetors, blowers, generators, distributors, starters and pumps. 16. Repair or replace parts such as pistons, rods, gears, valves and bearings. 17. Rewire ignition systems, lights and instrumental panels. 18. Repair manual and automatic transmissions. 19. Repair or replace shock absorbers. 20. Replace and adjust headlights. 21. Install and repair accessories, such as radios, heaters, mirrors and windshield wipers. 22. Rebuild parts, such as crankshafts and cylinder blocks. |

Qualification Requirements: | 1. Must possess or must be capable to obtain a valid CNMI drivers license. 2. Must be a high school graduate. 3. Must have at least 2 years experience in the same position in repairing, equipment maintenance, troubleshooting of automotive engines. 4. Must be able to use hand tools, power tools, equipment and machinery that are commonly used for automotive engine and body repair. 5. Must possess a clean driving record. 6. Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry object at least 50 lbs in weight. 7. Applicants must also submit detailed resume equally applicable to U.S. and Foreign Workers. 8. Comments: | The job position is a temporary, full–time position with one (1) year duration. Work hours will be from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. with one (1) hour break time, Mondays to Fridays of every week but may vary depending on the work assignments given by the immediate supervisors or managers. The place of employment will be at Ground Floor, Transamerica Building, Middle Road, Chalan Laulau, Saipan. Applicants will be expected to live within reasonable proximity to the place of employment to perform the work as required by this vacancy announcement. The selected applicant will be offered employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays of the total period that begins with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or the advertised contractual first date of need, whichever is later, and ends on the expiration date specified in the work contract or in its extensions, if any. If the hired applicant completes 50 percent of the work contract period, the employer will provide, reimburse, or advance payment for the hired applicant's transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the hired applicant is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for the worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the hired applicant originally departed to work, except where the hired applicant will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a hired applicant's voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Worker will be reimbursed in the first work week for all visa, visa processing, border crossing and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (except passport fees). Daily transportation from the residence of workers to the worksite is not provided. Overtime work and pay is available, and overtime hours are paid at a rate of 1.5 times that of the offered hourly rate in this vacancy announcement. Overtime hours shall begin to accrue after the 40 hour of work within a calendar week beginning on Sunday and ending on Saturday. On-the-job training is not provided.
