Job Title: Landscape Gardener
Job Duties: Landscapes and maintains grounds of property. Prepares and grades terrain, applies fertilizers, seeds and sods lawns. Cultivates, propagates, up pots, fertilizes, and prepares plants for pre-landscape installation. Plants, transplants, fertilizes, prunes, trims, labels, and waters plants, including but not limited to, shrubs, ornamental plants, trees, grass, and flowers. May use natural forest wood or other materials to produce/create features or other decorative items. Utilizes hand tools and operates vehicles and powered equipment including but not limited to, mini-excavators, backhoes, mini-screens, bobcats, boxer chippers, and other equipment to perform landscaping and ground maintenance work. May maintain or repair tools, equipment, or structures. Disposes of trash or waste materials. Installs rock gardens, decks, drainage systems, irrigation systems, segmental concrete masonry unit retaining walls, fences, planters, and installs equipment to support trees and other plants. Fringe Benefits: Work to be performed on DPRI-funded projects and projects covered by Davis Bacon, Service Contracts Act, and/or Executive Order 14206 will be paid no less than the indicated wage rate but may be paid more where special rates apply; Round-trip airfare for off-island hire; Food and lodging provided @ $80.00 per week; local transportation from employer’s designated lodging facility to/from jobsite; and employer/employee-paid medical insurance provided. For work performed on Service Contract Act projects: additional benefits of Health and Welfare Benefits of $4.80 per hour up to 40 hours per week; Paid time off up to 80 hours of paid vacation after 1 year of service and up to 160 hours after 3 years of service; and 11 paid holidays per year.
