Job Title: Commercial Pilot
Job Duties: Summary of duties: Pilot and navigate the flight of fixed-wing, multi-engine aircraft on chartered air carrier routes for the transport of passengers and cargo. Specific Tasks: •Work as part of a flight team with other crew members, especially during takeoffs and landings; •Use instrumentation to guide flights when visibility is poor; •Start engines, operate controls, and pilot airplanes to transport passengers, mail, or freight adhering to flight plans, regulations, and procedures; •Contact control towers for takeoff clearances, arrival instructions, and other information, using radio equipment; •Monitor gauges, warning devices, and control panels to verify aircraft performance and to regulate engine speed; •Check passenger and distributions and fuel amounts to ensure that weight and balance specifications are met.

Qualification Requirements: •Must have 2 months of required ground and flight training per the FAA •Must have 6 months of work experience as Commercial Pilot. •Must hold at least a Commercial Pilot Certificate with appropriate category and class ratings, as required under Title 14CFR 135.243(C)(1). The required certificate will be applied equally to both U.S. workers and CW-1 workers. •Must hold a first-class medical certificate, as required under TITLE 14 CFR 61.23(a)(2). The required medical certificate will be applied equally to both U.S. workers and CW-1 workers. •Must have at least 1,200 hours of flight time as a pilot, including 500 hours of cross-country flight time, 100 hours of night flight time, and 75 hours of actual or simulated instrument time at least 50 hours of which were in actual flight, as required under Title 14 CFR 135.243 (c)(2). The required flight hours will be applied to both U.S. workers and CW-1 workers. •The pilot must successfully complete the FAA required company trainings and checks, prior to being assigned as a pilot-in-command of the PA-31 aircraft. This requirement is in accordance with the FAA approved company Training Program, and must be performed and completed using the company facility and aircraft. Must complete 100 hours of flight time as pilot-in-command in the PA-31-350 aircraft, in accordance with 14 CFR 135.105(a). The required training and flight hours will be applied to both U.S. workers and CW-1 workers. NOTE: The offered wage is paid upon successful completion of the company training and flight hour requirements. •The worker may not be assigned as a pilot of any aircraft operated by Star Marianas Air, Inc. unless the worker successfully passes a DOT/FAA Pre-employment drug test drug test, as required under Title 14 CFR120.109(a): (1) No employer may hire any individual for a safety-sensitive function listed in 120.105 unless the employer first conducts a pre-employment test and receives a verified negative drug test result for that individual, (2) No employer may allow an individual to transfer from a nonsafety-sensitive to a safety sensitive function unless the employer first conducts a pre-employment test and receives a verified negative drug test result for the individual. NOTE: The pre-employment drug test is a DOT and FAA requirement, and may only be performed in the US. The DOT/FAA pre-employment drug test requirement under Title 14 CFR120.109(a)(1) will be applied equally to both U.S. workers and CW-1 workers. •The worker must sign an agreement with a Training Cost Recovery program wherein the employer initially bears the cost of the required trainings and checks. The cost of this training shall be prorated over the first 6 months of the employment. If the worker does not complete 6 months of employment, the worker shall reimburse the company for a prorated amount of the cost of the ground and flight training. The required agreement with a Training Cost Recovery program will be applied equally to both U.S. workers and CW-1 workers.

Comments: •The job opportunity is a temporary, full-time position commencing on November 1, 2023 to October 31, 2024. •Offered wage is paid upon successful completion of the company training and flight hour described in the qualification requirements. •Three-Fourths Guarantee: Workers will be offered employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays of the total period that begins with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or the advertised contractual first date of need, whichever is later, and ends on the expiration date specified in the work contract or in its extensions, if any. •Transportation and Subsistence: If the worker completes 50 percent of the work contract period, the employer will provide, reimburse, or advance payment for the worker’s transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for the worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker’s voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. •Airlines are covered by the U.S. Railway Act. •Workers will be provided with on-the-job training to perform specific duties assigned. •Compensation offered will be determined by the worker's skills, education, and experience. •Workers’ Compensation provided. •Prospective applicants may apply with Star Marianas Air, Inc. via hand delivery or email.
