Job Title: | Facilities and Ground Support Mechanic |
Job Duties: | Summary of duties: Perform work involving maintenance or craft occupations to keep machines, vehicles, mechanical equipment, or the structure of an establishment in repair. Duties may involve pipe fitting, insulating, welding, carpentry, repairing electrical and mechanical equipment, installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment, and repairing buildings, floors, or stairs. Specific tasks: •Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches, or precision measuring instruments or electrical or electronic testing devices. •Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of the building does not deteriorate. •Inspect, operate or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions. •Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them by checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary. •Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical, electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment. •Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists. •Clean or lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of machinery. •Adjust functional parts of devices or control instruments, using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, or straight edges. •Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment. •Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work. •Examine vehicles to determine extent of damage or malfunctions. •Perform routine and scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrication, and tune-ups. |

Comments: | •The job opportunity is a temporary, full-time position commencing on November 01, 2023 to October 31, 2024. •Three-Fourths Guarantee: Workers will be offered employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays of the total period that begins with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or the advertised contractual first date of need, whichever is later, and ends on the expiration date specified in the work contract or in its extensions, if any. •Transportation and Subsistence: If the worker completes 50 percent of the work contract period, the employer will provide, reimburse, or advance payment for the worker’s transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for the worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker’s voluntary abandonment of employment.
