| Job Duties: | Constructs, erects, installs and repairs structures and fixtures using such materials as wood, wallboard, plastic, fiberglass or drywall. Reads blueprints, sketches, or building plans to determine type of work required, layout and materials needed. Erects framework for structure and lays subfloor board. Erects scaffolding or ladders for assembling structures. Performs work with prefabricated buildings. Builds and/or installs partitions, doors, framework, stairs, mantles, cabinets, or other wooden fixtures. Installs structures or fixtures, such as windows, frames, floorings, trim, and hardware. Replaces panes of glass, ceiling tiles, and doors. Constructs forms or chutes for pouring concrete. Uses levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares, and surveying equipment to ensure everything is level and secure. Works on top of stilts, ladders, and the top beams of buildings.
