Job Title: REFRIGERATION AND AIRCON TECHNICIAN
Job Duties: REPAIR OR REPLACE PARTS FOR RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL AIR CONDITIONING AND REFRIGERATION UNITS AND OTHER APPLIANCES SUCH AS WIRING, MOTORS, PUMPS, SWITCHES, LIGHTS, FANS AND THERMOSTATS. INSPECTION AND TESTING OF THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEMS TO ENSURE THEY ARE WORKING PROPERLY. CHECK THE CONTACTOR, START/RUN CAPACITOR(S) AND THE CONDENSER FAN MOTOR. INSURE THAT STANDARD ARE BEING COMPLIED WITH AND PROCEDURES AND POLICIES ARE BE ING FOLLOWED. THIS WILL INCLUDE MAINTAINING A SAFE WORK AREA. KNOW TO USE OF ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT TO TEST FOR CONTINUITY OF CIRCUITS AND COMPONENTS. RESPONSIBLE FOR ARRANGING HEATING AND COOLING SYSTEMS FOR NEWLY CONSTRUCTED RESIDENCES AND BUSINESSES. PROFICIENT IN READING BLUEPRINTS IS REQUIRED SINCE THIS INVOLVES PLACEMENT OF THE DUCTWORK AND PIPES AND THEY MUST BE INSTALLED CORRECTLY.
High School Diploma Required? Yes
Qualification Requirements: MUST BE A REFRIGERATION AND AIR-CON TECHNICIAN WITH 12 MONTHS OF WORK EXPERIENCE, PROFICIENT IN AIR-CON SERVICE AND REPAIRS, INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE. KNOWLEDGE IN SYSTEM TESTINGS FOR PROPER FUNCTIONING. INSPECTION AND TESTING OF THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM S TO ENSURE UNIT IS WORKING PROPERLY. KNOWLEDGE OF USE ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT TO TEST FOR CONTINUITY OF CIRCUITS AND COMPONENTS. KNOWLEDGE IN ARRANGING HEATING AND COOLING SYSTEMS FOR NEWLY CONSTRUCTED RESIDENCES AND BUSINESSES. PRE-SCREENING TEST IS REQUIRED (LIKE TRADE TEST AND/OR EMPLOYMENT EXAM)
