| Job Duties: | • Set up equipment for employees use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, or appropriate software; • Develop training materials and procedures, or train users in the proper use of hardware or software; • Assemble; install; configure and test computer and CCTV equipment or units of local area networks requiring the use of standard interface protocols; • Refer major hardware or software problems or defective products to vendors or technicians for services; • Maintain records of daily data communication transactions; problems and remedial actions taken, or installation activities; • Answer user inquiries regarding computer software or hardware operation to resolve problems; • Read technical manuals, confer with users, or conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems or to provide technical assistance and support; • Confer with staff, users and management to establish requirements for new systems or modifications; • Ensure that new hardware or software systems or components integrate with existing network system; • Modify and customize commercial programs for internal needs; • Conduct office automation feasibility studies, including workflow analysis, space design, or cost comparison analysis; • Oversee daily performance of computer systems; • Analyze, test, troubleshoot and evaluate existing network systems, such as local area networks (LAN). Perform network maintenance to ensure networks operate correctly with minimal interruption; • Configure and setup servers to work with various programs; install software to ensure server backups and network user backups are performed on a daily basis; • Analyze network data to determine network usage, disk space availability, or server function; • Fabricate cables for use in interfacing peripherals with computers, other peripherals and networks; • Develop and maintain database setup of system software and hardware, install hubs and switches on the network, maintain networks and troubleshoot programs; • Keep updated knowledge about emerging industry or technology trends; • Perform other related duties as needed. |
