Job Duties: | Greet customers and ascertain what each customer wants or needs. Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on customer needs and desires. Compute sales prices, total purchases, and receive and process cash or credit payment. Prepare merchandise for purchase or rental. Answer questions regarding the store and its merchandise. Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions, policies regarding payment and exchanges, and security practices. Demonstrate use or operation of merchandise. Describe merchandise and explain use, operation, and care of merchandise to customers. Ticket, arrange, and display merchandise to promote sales. Inventory stock and requisition new stock. Exchange merchandise for customers and accept returns. Watch for and recognize security risks and thefts and know how to prevent or handle these situations. Place special orders or call other stores to find desired items. Clean shelves, counters, and tables. Maintain records related to sales. Open and close cash registers, performing tasks such as counting money, separating charge slips, coupons, and vouchers, balancing cash drawers, and making deposits. Prepare sales slips or sales contracts. Estimate and quote trade-in allowances. Bag or package purchases and wrap gifts. Help customers try on or fit merchandise. Sell or arrange for delivery, insurance, financing, or service contracts for merchandise. Estimate quantity and cost of merchandise required, such as paint or floor covering. Rent merchandise to customers. Estimate cost of repair or alteration of merchandise. |

Comments: | The job opportunity is a temporary, full-time position commencing January 5, 2024, to January 4, 2025. THREE-FOURTHS GUARANTEE: Workers will be offered employment for a total of number of work hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays of the total period and begins with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment of the advertised contractual first date of need, whichever is later, and ends on the expiration date specified in the work contract or in its extensions, if any. TRANSPORTATION AND SUBSISTENCE: If the worker completes 50 percent of the work contract period, the employer will provide reimburse, or advance payment for the worker's transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon the completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for the worker's reasonable cost of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker's voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved.
