Job Title: Tailor
Job Duties: Sew, join, reinforce, or finish clothing or other items. Create new pieces of clothing from patterns and designs or alter or repair existing garments to fit customers better. Sew garments, using needles and thread or sewing machines. Measure parts such as sleeves or pant legs, and mark or pin-fold alteration lines. Take up or let down hems to shorten or lengthen garment parts such as sleeves. Let out or take in seams in suits and other garments to improve fit. Assemble garment parts and join parts with basting stitches, using needles and thread or sewing machines. Remove stitches from garments to be altered, using rippers or razor blades. Record required alterations and instructions on tags, and attach them to garments. Examine tags on garments to determine alterations that are needed. Fit, alter, repair and make made to measure clothing, according to customers' and clothing manufacturers' specifications and fit, and applying principles of garment design, construction, and styling.

Qualification Requirements: Must have at least 12 months prior work experience as a Tailor/Seamstress, Dressmaker, or Upholsterer. Must be able and willing to work nights, weekends, holidays, and during inclement weather.

Comments: The job opportunity is a temporary, full-time position commencing on February 2, 2024 up to February 1, 2027. THREE-FOURTHS GUARANTEE: Workers will be offered employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays of the total period that begins with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or the advertised contractual first date of need, whichever is later, and ends on the expiration date specified in the work contract or in its extensions, if any. Transportation and subsistence: If the worker completes 50 percent of the work contract period, the employer will provide, reimburse, or advance payment for the worker’s transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for the worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work.
