| Job Duties: | Plans, layout, installs, maintains and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. Plan new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials. Prepares sketches or follows blueprints to determine location of wiring to ensure conformance to building and safety codes. Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit and fitting/boxes. Installs lighting fixtures/devices and auxiliary system. Pulls wiring through conduit. Splices wires. Connects wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components. Studies specifications in blueprints, sketches or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required. Uses a variety of tools or equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment. ***Special wage rate: Work to be performed on DPRI-funded projects and projects covered by Davis Bacon, Service Contracts Act, and/or Executive Order 14206 will be paid no less than the indicated wage rate but may be paid more where special rates apply.*** |
