| Job Duties: | Supervises & coordinates activities of personnel engage in performing chemical, physical & environmental test required for quality control of processes and products. Compiles and analyzes test information to determine operating efficiency or process of equipment and to diagnose malfunctions. Confers with scientists or engineers to conduct analyses, interpret test results, or develop nonstandard tests. May adjust formulas and process based on test results. May test and analyze sample products. May prepare test solutions, compounds and reagents for use by laboratory personnel in conducting tests. Has the responsibility to ensure that all lab personnel have demonstrated their ability to satisfactorily perform the analyses to which they are assigned and that all the data reported by the laboratory meet the required quality assurance and regulatory criteria. |

| Qualification Requirements: | Employer Preference: Must have 3-4 years experience as laboratory supervisor. College graduate, Should have a bachelor's degree in microbiology, biology or equivalent. Should have training at federal agency, or academic institution in microbiology analysis of drinking water or on the job training in microbiology at certified laboratory or other training acceptable to the state EPA. O-Net: Title Job Zone Four: Considerable Preparation Needed Overall Experience A minimum of two to four years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is needed for these occupations. For example, an accountant must complete four years of college and work for several years in accounting to be considered qualified. Job Training Employees in these occupations usually need several years of work-related experience, on-the-job training, and/or vocational training.
