| Job Duties: | Prepare, seasons and cooks soups, meats, vegetables, desserts and other foodstuff for consumption in eating establishments. Reads menu to estimate food requirements and orders food from suppliers or procures from storage. Follow standard recipe in accordance of corporate standard. Adjust thermostat controls to regulate temperature of ovens, broiler, grills, roasters, steam kettles and smoker. Measure and mixes ingredients according to recipe, using variety of kitchen utensils and equipment, such as blender, mixers, grinders, slicers and other tenderizers to prepare soups, salads, gravies, desserts, sauces and casseroles. Bakes, roasts, broils and steams meats, fish, vegetables and other foods. Adds seasoning to foods during mixing or cooking, according to personal judgment and experience. Observes and tests foods being cooked by tasting, smelling and piercing with fork to determine that it is cooked. Carves meats, portions food on serving plates, adds gravies and sauces, garnishes servings to fill orders, Performs other related duties as assigned. To maintain safe work habits in accordance with all government regulations will be served while attempting to prevent waste from over cooking. Ensure that work area free from bacteria and cross contamination, knows how to sanitize and follow temperature danger zone. Have a knowledge in stock FIFO. to support all established procedures for inventory control of all food products and supplies. |
