Job Title: Auto Technician 49-3023.02
Job Duties: Installation of auto accessories; lights, Sound system, Keyless entry, Auto alarm, Emergency lights, Spoilers and retrofitting film and stickers. Examine vehicles, compile estimates of repair costs, and secure customers' approval to perform repairs. Repair, overhaul, and adjust automobile brake systems. Use electronic test equipment to locate and correct malfunctions in fuel, ignition, and emissions control systems. Repair and replace defective balljoint suspensions, brake shoes, and wheel bearings. Inspect and test new vehicles for damage and record findings so that necessary repairs can be made. Test electronic computer components in automobiles to ensure that they are working properly. Tune automobile engines to ensure proper and efficient functioning. Install and repair air conditioners, and service components such as compressors, condensers, and controls. Repair, replace, and adjust defective carburetor parts and gasoline filters. Remove and replace defective mufflers and tailpipes

Qualification Requirements: Employer Preference: Minimum 2 years experience in installation of auto accessories and retrofitting film and stickers. Good knowledge of auto wiring system. O-Net: Title Job Zone Three: Medium Preparation Needed Overall Experience Previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is required for these occupations. For example, an electrician must have completed three or four years of apprenticeship or several years of vocational training, and often must have passed a licensing exam, in order to perform the job.
