| Job Duties: | obtains data pertaining to angles, elevations, points, & contours for const'n, map making, mining, or other purposes, using alidade, level, transit, plane table, teodolite, electronic distance measuring eqp't, & other surveying instruments. compiles notes, sketches, & records of data obtained & work performed. input collected data into computer and process it for mapping or design purposes. Knowledge of CAD software required to be able to use the survey data for designing horizontal as well as vertical structures such as roads or buildings. Understanding and knowledge of highway or route surveying is needed to be able to design super elevation on roads and for its drainage analysis. |
