Job Duties: Service, repair & overhaul aircraft & aircraft engines to insure airworthiness. Repair, place & rebuild aircraft structures, such as wings & fuselage, & functional components including rigging, surface controls, & plumbing & hydraulic units, using hand tools, power tools, machines, & equipment such as shears, sheets metal brakes, welding equipment, rivet gun, & drills. Read & interpret manufacturer’s & airlines’ maintenance manuals, service bulletins, & other specifications to determine feasibility & method of repairing or replacing malfunction, such as sticking or burned valves. Inspect turbine blades to detect cracks or breaks. Test engine operation, using testing equipment such as ignition analyzer, compression checker, distributor time, & ammeter, locate source to malfunction. Perform other related duties as required or assigned.

A minimum of one or two years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience. Airline certification required. KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge in tools such as: Aircraft maintenance management systems; Integrated maintenance and inventory systems; Portable maintenance access terminals; S.M.A.R.T aircraft maintenance tracking; Aircraft test stands; Mechanical lifts; Power lifts; Offset left aviation snips; Offset right aviation snips; Sheet metal breakers; Straight cut aviation snips; Brass punches; Center punches; Pin punches; Taper punches. Knowledge of technology such as: CaseBank SpotLight; CynapSys Virtual DER; Engine analysis software; Metis Systems MainTrack; Mxi Technologies Maintenix; Pentagon 2000SQL; Sacramento Sky Ranch Mechanic's Toolbox; Access Software AIRPAX; Maintenance information databases; Maintenance planning software; Maintenance record software; Computerized aircraft log manager CALM software; Technical manual database software; and Supply system software. SKILLS: Installing equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications. Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it. Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed. ABILITIES: The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions.
