| Job Duties: | Test,adjust, or repair biomedical or electromedical equipment.Inspect and test malfunctioning medical and related equipment following manufacturers specification,using test and analysis instruments.Examine medical equipment and facility's structural enviroment and check for proper use of equipment to protect patients and staff from electrical or mechanical hazards and to ensure compliance with safety regulations. Disassemble malfunctioning equipment and remove, repair and replace defective parts such as motors,clutches or transformers.Keep records of maintenance,repair and required updates of equipment.Perform preventive maintenance or service such as cleaning,lubricationg and adjusting equipment.Test and calibrate components and equipment following manufacturer manuals and trouble shooting techniques using hand tools,power tools and measuring devices. * Evaluate the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of biomedical equipment. * Install, adjust, maintain, and/or repair biomedical equipment. * Advise hospital administrators on the planning, acquisition, and use of medical equipment. * Advise and assist in the application of instrumentation in clinical environments. * Research new materials to be used for products, such as implanted artificial organs. * Develop models or computer simulations of human biobehavioral systems to obtain data for measuring or controlling life processes. * Design and develop medical diagnostic and clinical instrumentation, equipment, and procedures, using the principles of engineering and biobehavioral sciences. * Conduct research, along with life scientists, chemists, and medical scientists, on the engineering aspects of the biological systems of humans and animals. * Teach biomedical engineering or disseminate knowledge about field through writing or consulting. * Design and deliver technology to assist people with disabilities. |

| Qualification Requirements: | ER Preference: Computers and Electronics — Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming. Repairing — Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools. Troubleshooting — Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it. Reading Comprehension — Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents. Critical Thinking — Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Installation — Installing equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications. Equipment Selection — Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job. Active Learning — Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making. Complex Problem Solving — Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Active Listening — Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
